Meet my Orangutan mask!
 
The hand molded base is painted with a blend of several colors to complete the look. Oranguan mask has hand selected and hand placed soft feathers. Using a custom mold I created (and my mixture of Venetian plaster) each base is hand molded. Each Orangutan is slightly different because each mask is a handmade piece of artwork! Surprisingly lightweight and comfortable to wear with felt cloth backing. Satin or sheer tie backs on each side to fasten around the face.

All my masks can be worn or used as decor. I studied the art of Venetian mask making and the art of paper mâché type Venetian plaster. I use the Italian Venetian traditional recipe of masquerade mask making and made my own template base that I use with variations. They are a stunning piece on the wall or laying on a dresser or entry way table. Many of my customers say their masks become wonderful conversation pieces they display in their homes!
